Yes it’s been a while because life tends to find ways to bog us down. I haven’t forgotten about you, I’ve just been unable to do much about it. So now I’m back with a fancy poker chips game aid I created.
Last year at GenCon my friends and I picked up the Dice-Builder RPG, Too Many Bones. We played it that night in the hotel lobby, reading through the rules and trying to grasp the new-to-us game mechanics. After that night, we fell in love with the game. So much so that I went back to their booth the next day (A Sunday, and I rarely go back into the vendor hall on Sunday) to buy the rest of the add-ons they had for the game. Well, except for the Premium Health Chips, and I regret that decision every time we play.
Then I noticed on their website they sell “Chip Holders,” made from a plastic material. I liked them, but as I’ve explored my new wood working hobby I decided to attempt to build my own. If that failed I could always buy theirs, right?
So I set out to do just that. I’m not the best and my budget is fairly low, so I can’t afford the high level programs. However I have become pretty savvy with Tinkercad.com. I had a few trial and error attempts and my CNC Router had a hiccup on the first go, but I’m pretty happy with the result. The best thing about these? They actually fit inside the box without raising the lid! That was a bonus I hadn’t planned on.
