Our party started out in a village, and depending on your race you were considered either an outcast from the “Elite” Society or second class citizen. Our village was made up of these outcast and second class citizens just trying to keep living normal lives. We hunted, still had trade with other cities, and just did our best to survive.
The week before GenCon, I decided to run a one shot adventure for the group. We haven’t played any RPG’s for a few months and I felt we needed the practice before heading out. So after reading through the Black Gate by Harley Stroh, I was ready to cause some pain!
Our DM gave us blank character sheets, and a packet with our character name’s on them. Inside of each packet were three other packets. While he had copies of our sheets with stats filled out. We spent the first 30-60 minutes, we had to navigate the caves, looking for a way out. Simultaneously, trying to remember and discover our character’s skills.
