  • Well it’s been a few days since the release of Fallen Star (The Latest Booster Pack for Warhawk) and I must say, there is a great reason it’s taken me a few days to write about it. The introduction of Jet-Packs is amazing feature for the game. One of the key reasons it has finally added a feature I personally felt the game was missing from the start. The ability to bail out of a flying Warhawk, whether you’re the pilot or a passenger.

The new map is also a welcomed site to sore eyes. Not nearly as large as Omega Dawn (Thank goodness) and no where near as bright as Broken Mirror. In the middle of the map, it appears that there is a giant space ship that has fell from the sky (Hence Fallen Star, eh.. eh?), which I can only assume is one of the ships that were meant to be in the single player campaign the game was originally going to have.

As of 12:53 am this morning, the newest Warhawk Patch, version 1.5 was released. (At least that was when I noticed it) So I just had to try it out, wanting to see what trophies could be acquired, what trophies I would start with. (Since they did announce some of the trophies would be acquired upon installing since some of them you wouldn’t be able to re-acquire)

As of Wednesday, the new 1.4 patch for Warhawk was released. Why it didn’t contain the new trophy patch (That will be the 1.5 patch that should be out “soon”), but instead it contained two very nice new game modes.

Well it only took nearly two years for Sony to bring this feature to the Playstation 3, but they finally did it. As of midnight, I was able to download and install the new 2.40 firmware update. So now, I’m off to play some Super Stardust HD so I can check out these new trohpies.

Once again we have a little walk through of the new 2.40 feature, but now you can see how the Trophy system will work.

Not exactly as I invisioned, but I think it will do.  Something they can always improve on right? I’m not going to be one of those people that say they’ve been wanting it, but then complain cause it’s not exactly what I want. I’m thrilled Sony is finally taking care of their users. I mean… later is better then never, right?

Well here we have it, a nice short little video detailing the new in game XMB for the Playstation 3. After watching it, I think I’m fairly satisfied. I mean, it’s only been over a year since I first brought my Playstation 3 home, and been anxiously waiting for this feature.

I won’t rant about what I like and don’t like, I’ll wait till they bring out all the videos for 2.40 before I cast my judgement. So far though, I approve.

Myspace apparently is making changes! New interface skins… new API’s for developers. My imediate response to hearing this was ‘I dont give a flying fuck!’

You want to know what might make using myspace more enjoyable? Maybe if every other day I didn’t have my email inbox half full of fake user profiles named ‘candy’, ‘bambi’, ‘hotTamalile47′, and ‘looking for love’ spamming me to check out their nude pics. You know what… Im already on the god damn internet. If I want to look at nude pics, here is a better way than surfing myspace – PORN! It already comprises more than 3/4ths of the internet, do I really need LoveToSuck31’s help to find these naughty pics? Do I really want to install malware on my comp to view a few boob shots I could have easily found on google image search?

Well it’s finally been officially announced, when the day comes you turn on your PS3 and see that Firmware 2.4 is ready to download, you will be greeted with in game XMB and the mythical trophies that have haunted the internet concerning Playstation 3. What are trophies exactly? There hasn’t really been a full blown story on them other than they will be a 3D item you can show off to people (Supposedly once Home comes out), but exactly how you obtain them hasn’t been released. The guess is something similar to the 360’s achievement system. Guess we’ll find out once it’s released.

As for now, if you load up your PS3 (and haven’t done so before reading this post) you will be greeted with the 2.36 Firmware update which:

“…improving system stability when playing select PlayStation format software titles.”

So there you have it for those of you that believed in game XMB was like the cake.

This update will suck the soul out of your homebrewing.

I awoke last night in an urgent panic. Something wasn’t right. I stumbled to the bathroom and unleashed the full fury on my piss against the porcelain. After a full night of boozing, unlike last time, I made it to the toilet in enough time to be rewarded with dry sheets when I returned to the sack. As I headed back to the bedroom I noticed that something else was afoot. The living room had an alien glow to it. My ninja skills immediately kicked in. After falling over the dining room chair (I was still drunk) I prepared to bust a roundhouse kick to the source of the disturbance. I did a wicked combat role into the living room and crushed the intruder. To my dismay it was only the Wii alerting me to update 3.3.

To the dismay of all Nintendo Wii homebrew/import fans, update 3.3 apparently destroys the homebrew scene, Freeloader, and the Twilight Princess exploit (similar to how alcohol has destroyed my liver). In all seriousness, for the .01% of Wii owners involved with or every plan on getting involved in homebrew or importing games; avoid this update.
